As a designer in theatre, I enjoy the element of play, and believe a performance should be just as interactive for the audience as it is for the performers. In my work I like to look at space, how it changes in a performance, how it effects a performance and try to incorporate it into the narrative as much as possible.

I am a hardcore puppetry and mask enthusiast. I have worked for theatre companies such as 'Pointed Arrow' and 'Hope Street Limited', as well as TV 'BBC Horizon' and most recently Music Videos. I like to experiment with different styles of puppetry, also fusing styles together. Most of my work is made from recycled materials as I think it gives a fantastic old haggard dimension to the work.

Toilet Roll Puppets Again!

I am still looking at how I can make a good puppet from toilet roll tubes. Here are the feet which I have been playing with, changing, getting annoyed by tonight. The one on the far right is the last one I have done, and I think the most successful.
Whether this whole puppet will fit together is another story!

Little Wire People

Here are a few photographs of some little wire people which I have made as an experiment for a workshop which I will be doing with Young People with Void Arts next week. They are quite fun to make and much more fun to play with!

We are doing a project around emotions and using this as a very good and effective way of the youjng people understanding how to read an emotion simply by body language.

Playing with Seletape.

A bit confusing, as these pictures are in a random order. But these are the start of me taking my idea with seletape a bit further. I have been trying to see how detailed I can make a seletape figure. I have since gone one step further and it actually looks like a face. I have yet to be able to take a picture of this though and will hopefully do that tomorrow.

SO There you go, this is what I have been doing.
